So I was cut from my high school tennis team

I go to a huge school with 4000 kids and basically 100 kids tried out for tennis this year and they only accepted like 14 but because of returning students only about 4. I lasted until the last section of tryouts and it was between me and another kid to get on the team. I was unfortunately cut and was wondering if it would be appropriate to ask if I can practice with the team afterschool ( i have no 6th period but there are only 4 courts)?

Only 15 kids are allowed on the team cause we only have 4 courts due to a poor district.

Im basically asking this because its difficult to find a partner to play with and playing against the wall, even for hours like I did for about a year, is not enough to get on the team.

Do you think it would be a good idea to ask?

They might let you, if you have connection with the tennis coach/staff.

Maybe play at the local country club?

all the local clubs are pretty expensive, well atleast too expensive for me

form your own club

a high school tennis club? ^^^

I’d ask! It might show that you have interest in the team and then if something were to happen… a spot to open… or even for next year’s tryouts it’d at least put you in their good favor.
