So I'm a little worried...

about my chances of getting transferring to Syracuse U in the Fall of 2011. Would anyone care to chance me/help me feel a bit more self assured?

I got a B+/A- average throughout high school and graduated from high school on a recommended plan w/ plenty of additional work (jobs, volunteering, etc.) as well as earning 29 hours of college credit while in high school.
I have two solid recommendations from professors at my current school (U. Houston)
I got a B/B+ average in my first semester with a 16 hour course load.

In addition to this, I have a pretty solid portfolio with a combination of free hand drawings and work from my studio class (models, painting, pattern design, etc.)

Any chance?

Just out of curiosity, what made you want to leave University of Houston?

Well I’ve lived in Texas my entire life, I’ve never even left the state, so I’m a bit weary of everything here; plus I’d like to start working up North after I graduate, so it sorta gives me time to settle in and get used to my environment. It also doesn’t hurt that Syracuse is ranked 2nd overall for architecture schools.

brainsnguts, you should try transferring as soon as you can, I think you might have a good shot because as far as I know Syracuse weighs a lot of their decision on the portfolio, you could also try transferring into other universities outside of Texas, just to make increase your chances, maybe you couls research some good architecture schools. Transferring into some schools can be pretty unpredictable because you never know your competition… Good luck and I hope you get in!!
