so I'm thinking

I want to be an architect, but I first I want to make sure I actually know what an architect is. From what I see, it's math, science, and art in one. However, I'm not sure how much of each of those subjects is involved. I think it's pretty much even, but is it mostly art? science? math? My grandfather was an architect (pretty much all of after WW2 to the 70's) and he loved it. I know the field has changed a lot since then, though. So, what exactly does an architect do?

perhaps 60% art + 40% engineering (science + math)?

i've read time and time again that you don't actually have to be a good artist, or have any artistic abilities, to succeed as an architect. what you need is an imagination and lots of creativity. this isn't to say that it's mostly math and science, though... i would say it's maybe closer to 50/50.

thanks :) that's what I was hoping for. Anyone else?
