hahaha i just visited 2 schools in Boston and FROZE my bloody arse off. So IDK how minneapolis would work haha.

I hope I like the weather: I’ve lived in Hawaii for three years!

oh jeeze haha! im like a true florida girl, flip flops and tan lines year round. so idk how i will do in the snow!

When I first was looking at Minnesota I ignored the fact that the city was dangerous, and all the horror stories I’ve heard of it. I also had ignored recent facts of the crime going on campus. Now I couldn’t even possibly consider the school.

Coolbreeze, what exactly is your problem with the U now?

***udge crime is there in minnesota?! thats like the nicest ppl lol

The crime is completely exaggerated. Really. Unless you go into shady places, you are pretty safe. The only exception was the guy who got shot in front of Centen and those two chicks who got robbed in front of Moos Tower. But really, if you come Miami, it’s the exact opposite.

Minnesotans are the nicest people. I once left my iPod in a ~200 or so lecture hall. When I came back to get it, there were only a few people left. I ran to my seat and the iPod was gone. I was pretty sad until some guy came behind me and asked if I was missing an iPod. I said “Yes!” and he gave it back to me. Just like that. This would have NEVER happened in a place like Miami or the like.

how about from out of the country? huh…

i’ll learn to speak English if anyone there is worried about.

So how is the Asian population? Hahah…

i think it’s should be like proximate 10% according to wikipedia. much better than NYC or long island. they have too many - -.

i figured that the schools with cheap tuition and a good scientific ranking plus easily to get into have attract major international asian students. one thing that’s intersting is the three aspects usually come togother though. if you ever try to ask some chinese why they choose this university they most likely will tell you the above reasons.

Crime is in Minnesota, but compared to Miami, is almost non-existant. Yes there is some random crap that happens, but 99% of the time it only happens to people involved in drug sales and stuff like that. Plus because crime is so rare here, it gets played up big time by the locals. Coming from a place like Miami, you’ll think it’s crazy. More crap happens in South Florida in a day than happens in the twin cities in a month. Really, the culture between the two places is about as opposite as you can get in the US.

And yea it is cold here, but us Minnesotans get used to it. It was 35 today and heaven. I was out in a long sleeve t-shirt, baseball hat (Twins obviosuly), and blue jeans and was pratically sweating. In a month it will be amazing. Nothing better than a Minnesota fall and spring with the temps between 40 and 55 degrees. They are amazing.

lol true. yea its pretty messed up here lol, every day its like oh, so and so was shot today, and you re like hmm you dont say. and yea im gonna hav to get me a twins hat 2 =P im goin to visit the school later this month, actually getting ther april 1st. idk what the weathers gonna be like ther, but this weekend i went to burlington and got a bunch of jackets lol

APineiro, the weather lately has been low to mid 40’s, cloudy and light showers. April 1st can be an entirely different story. Either 60 and sunny. Or like when I visited at the end of March my junior year of high school: a blizzard. Check the weather the few days before you come up!
