It seems as if Wake Forest sent out all the acceptances then the rejections. Not one person I've seen has received a rejection letter. So is there any chance my letter may come a day late? Mail to my house seems to be semi-slow. For instance, I know the other day I didn't receive a decision from Boston College until a day after other people heard in CT. Anyway, here are my stats...

white male from the great state of Connecticut

3.75 unweighted GPA (senior grades AP History A-, AP Calculus A-, British Literature Honors A, Wesleyan Chem. A-). My school runs off the block schedule. 4 classes per semester with APs running the whole year. I have those three classes plus my Wesleyan class as the fourth.

ideal grade progression

1370 and 2070 on the SAT

15/190 class rank

All honors classes and 3 out of the 5 AP classes my schools has

I am a Wesleyan High School Scholar. Every other day I leave school and take "Principles of Chemistry I" there. I was accepted again for next semester, and I am taking "Principles of Chemistry II" next semester. I finished the course with one of the higher grades in the class with an A-/A. I am hoping they consider this because obviously Wesleyan is one of the best schools in the country, and it proves that I can succeed.

~40 hours of community service (probably the killer here)

Founder, former president, former vice-president, and current secretary/treasurer of the "Support Our Nation" Club

Founder and vice-president of the Tutoring Club

President and former treasurer of the International Culture Club

I am in CT and didn’t hear either although others did…

were they accepted?

Yes both were accepted

what did their last names start with and what does yours start with?

not looking good then. it does seem that only acceptances were sent out differently than rejections/deferalls. :(

I think you are jumping to conclusions. We’re in SoCal, haven’t heard; others on the west coast have. It could just be the vagaries of the mail system.

Don’t Panic. Maybe rejections just don’t want to post for fear of being the first. Really, even if rejections went out a day later, then the NC rejections would have made it there today. Just like the NC accepts got there on Saturday. Really do you believe no one from NC got denied? I would say that it sure is wierd it is only accepts on the site however it is not all the accepts. Also a bit strange that some - like Washington State - got their letters the same day upper midwest got letters. How does that work?None of it makes sense. Good luck to all!

cowgirl, where do you live and did you get in?

Upper Midwest - and yes. Still does not make sense to me the distribution of acceptance letters. There is no way it takes mail the same amount of time to get to MN, WI or SD as it does to get to CA and WA.

that is weird. using a usps calculator, it says delivery time would be three days. the postal service doesn’t work at all on sundays right? that would mean i get the letter tomorrow.

I live in Maine, which is definitely a significant amount north of Connecticut, and I received my acceptance yesterday, so its a bit surprising that you have not received anything.

A little hope for all…I just spoke with Admissions, he said all decisions, acceptances, wait lists and denials went out on the same day, same truck and all first class mail. He said it’s the US mail service at work now and even went on to share a story about a man with twins who had one daughter receive her letter and the other did not, they both were accepted. So hopefully there is more good news to come for those of us who didn’t receive a letter yesterday

I hope so…a friend of mine got accepted yesterday and I’m still waiting to hear. I just checked the mail and still nothing. But thats a little reassuring that everything went out at the same time.

We are in CT and still have not received anything although the mail has already come today. This is the problem with using snail-mail, rather than e-mail.

I sure hope this isn’t true.
I’m already expecting 3 online rejections this afternoon. Four rejections in one day should be illegal.

researchmaven, if there was ever a case for email notification or notification through an online portal like Bucknell, Lehigh and Hamilton do…this is the case…sure hope the people at Wake are considering

Online portal is good, but email has been a disaster at a few places. Yahoo, hotmail and a few others had the spam filters were tripped when the schools sent out mass emails and then the emails were blocked. Took hours and even the next day for some to receive emails. SO I would vote Online portal!!!

D’s acceptance came today – Southern California.
