So I noticed USC offers many different majors, all of which fall under the Bioengineering category.

Biomedical Engineering

* Biomedical Engineering (B.S.)
* Biomedical Engineering (Biochemical Engineering) (B.S.)
* Biomedical Engineering (Electrical Engineering) (B.S.)
* Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering (B.S.)

Can anyone tell me the difference between these 4 biomedical engineering majors? I plan on going to medical school (do'nt know if that helps)

I am not part of the biomed engineering program, but my guess is Biomed Engineering emphasizes biology, Biochem emphasizes chemistry, the EE emphasis focuses on electrical engineering and the mechanical focuses on mechanics. I recommend talking to your advisor and get good pre-med counseling. My guess is a broad Biomedical Engineering would be best for pre-med and if you change your mind about pre-med, you can just go into Biomedical Engineering. Really look carefully at your strengths-is it bio, chemistry, physics, etc. before you decide what you want to study.
