So my sister almost died from drinking Jamba Juice...

She had a severe asthma attack at the aquarium because she drank Jamba Juice. She's allergic to milk and apparently smoothies have milk.

/:

damn. Sue them?

Sorry for what happened.

Has this ever happened before?

They have small amounts of milk, probably

She chose to drink that Jamba juice, knowingly or not that it had milk in it. no use in suing lol

How the hell did she not know that smoothie drinks have milk in them?

Jamba juice <333

Nah. We’re just going to write a letter telling them to label their products more clearly.

It was at one of those kiosk things so there wasn’t any nutritional information available. But she said she just figured it was juice since it was called “Jamba Juice.”

They didn’t make a claim saying that they’re dairy free, why sue?

I wasn’t being serious

though it may not have been as obvious as I wanted it to be.

she doesn’t ask when she gets things? smoothies usually have yoghurt in them, i think…

i’m vegetarian (but i don’t really consume diary either) and i ask EVERYWHERE no matter where i am. although i’m not trying to blame her or anything, when you have extreme allergies or dietary needs you should be a little cautious. that really sucks. back when i ate meat i had a reaction like that to shrimp, that throat-closing feeling is probably one of the scariest in the world.

That’s very interesting that she is allergic to the milk! was she always like that?

I’m glad she’s ok.

^^
She usually does. I guess she was either really thirsty or really excited to get to try Jamba Juice.

^
Yeah, this is like the fifth time. She’s extremely allergic to milk, nuts, eggs, and seafood.

They have those “all fruit” smoothies she might want to try.

It was a kiosk. They had two drinks available without any labels at all except for price.

Are your parents by any chance hypochondriacs (or is your house unusually sterile?). The hygiene hypothesis suggests that allergies like the ones you’re sister experiences arise from a lack of gut flora during development.

No, but I’m a hypochondriac. :P

The doctors said it might be because my mom was 40 when she gave birth to my sister.

Lol at the mindset of suing whenever something goes wrong…
