so.. what do you guys think of this?

So I think I've got my colleges and majors narrowed down... Please tell me what you guys think.. because I really have NO IDEA what I'm doing and some input and people that know what they are doing is nicely appreciated!! :)
I'm planning on going to med school after

Okay so here are my list of colleges:
Azusa Pacific University
California State University: Fresno
UC Merced
UC Riverside
UC Santa Cruz
UC Davis
UC Irvine

davis and irvine are only if my sat scores from october are higher

as for major... is biological sciences or health sciences good?

also.. if theres a college thats on here thats bad for premed then please tell me :D or if theres another college that you can recommend?
GPA: 3.56
SAT: 1600

IMO, take off UC Merced...it's too new at this point.

Bio major is good. Just be sure you take a rigorous enough academic schedule, but also one that you can get a high GPA.

Good luck!

How will it grow if people have this attitude?

^ It will grow by people choosing it over the "community college to more prestigious UC route". Also, people located in the Central Valley might prefer it...it is an area with a burgeoning population.

It was also grow if people like the OP apply there and attend. =)

If you are interested in medical school, try and find their acceptance percentage, that is.. the percentage of graduates that get in to med. school from the respective university. It is important to visit the school to see if you will fit with who will be teaching your classes. Last, check out the schools in person. Many times this is the best way to determine whether you will like the area, and such the school. :)

ohh, ok.

Hm, what about the major? is biological sciences or health sciences a good major?

Yes Kyle, but why would someone willingly choose to pay the state of California $22,000 a year for the privilege of being the guinea pig for a school located in, to be charitable, the middle of freaking nowhere?

There's no campus life, no sports teams, no "killer app" programs, only 17 majors and as a college town, Merced ranks somewhere behind Moscow, Idaho.

It's fine to rah-rah the place, but be realistic. UC Merced is never going to be a destination - it'll be a safety school and commuter campus, much like UC Riverside.
