So what is the acceptace packet going to be like? Anyone know?

Is it going to be a something mind boggling or is just going to be an ordinary envelope with "CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCEPTANCE...". Also do they mail you a free sweatshirt/hoodie or t-shirt or anything of that sort. Thanks...Greatly appreciated.

Big envelope = acceptance.
Small envelope = Rejection.

You’ll find out online before getting it in the mail.

I got a Cal decal last year… that’s about it besides the letter…

You *might *get a sticker.

hmm i got a decal it’s still on my car right now haha

If you applied to L&S and got accepted you’ll get some DVD/book for the “on the same page” program.

Last year it was a Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon DVD and the year before that was a book called ‘Gettysburg’. Students found the Gettysburg book useless except for using as doorstops in Units 1/2.

Ok, if you are rejected, you get diddly squat. To save paper (and therefore money), Berkeley does not send out rejection letters. If you don’t check MyBerkeleyApp, you will never know if you are rejected.

As for the acceptance letter, if will probably be less than an envelope and a letter. They need to save money, so they will probably skimp on your acceptance packets and I don’t blame them.

A free shirt or sweatshirt?

What do you think this is, a school that has money AND cares about its undergraduate students?

is it like the one ryan and marissa got in the OC (season 3 ep 20)

if you’re lucky, you get an acceptance – maybe even better than a hoodie

@akdmx: Hahaha.

For 2008 admitted students, the Engineerings kiddos received a spiffy Berkeley CoE 512 MB flash drive.

did they receive the flashdrive in the mail or when they came for orientation?

dvds for l&s last year. hoodie = dream on.
you’ll get a big envelope saying congrats though. uhm…i don’t remember getting a sticker for cal but got one for la and it’s stuck in my car hahaha

I have to admit that Berkeley’s packet was a little disappointing (for my year), which was basically a three-fold piece of cardstock that had a few words, in addition to the usual letter of congrats. It was the lightest compared to the rest of the acceptance packets. But anything is better than a rejection.

Man CoC didn’t give out anything. freakin CoC.

^ lol, 512 MB flashdrives are old fashion now.

CoC as in College of Chemistry? Well, my CoC floormate showed me this spinning yellow plastic thing that apparently represented chaos theory or something that he received from the CoC.

But if you do come here, you get more stuff:

CoE gives you a nice blue aluminum water bottle with CoE on it.

Mechanical Engineers get hats that say MeCalnical Engineering, apparently.

And EECS supposedly gets t-shirts that say something about EECS

With the economy as it is and the Californian budget cuts from education, we might not even get a package… lol

I did not receive an EECS shirt… however I got the blue aluminum water bottle.

Aw… what. Hmm. Didn’t get a chaos theory thing

I think they gave out these items at the various department orientations before school started. The orentation began at 8 or 9 in the morning so I think a lot of people missed it. This is what the people I know told me their departments gave them for free.
