Q1: Is it possible to design a course of study that not only focuses on biology but also includes a little philosophy of mind, linguistics, aesthetics, and so forth?

Q2: small schools often lack the lab space, equipment, maintenance contracts, labtechs, etc., that good science research requires, and NCF must be one of the smallest colleges anywhere. often resources are dependent solely on the ability of faculty to bring in grant money. what can a research-oriented freshman expect to find in the labs at NCF? If fMRIs are out in a school this size, ;+) how well equipped and maintained are the facilities at NCF?

Q3: without graduate students, and with a reputation for hippie/grunge-ness, how serious are the researchers at NCF? are they working with profs in labs in the first year?

There must be some reason NCF is putting students in good grad programs, but can anyone with experience in neurobiology or biology speak to these questions? Thanks.
