So who exactly do they get for, "The Staff?"

I was trying to find an upper div history class that fit my schedule and whose final was also any day past Monday because I really want to be able to go to the UCLA-USC game (I didn't go my freshman year, so I gotta do it this year!!! omg)

well anyways, the only class I found and that was interesting was History 125, history of Low Countries. The professor teaching the course is known as "The Staff."

Who they usually get? Random people from the department who need the extra money? Is it normally just some random professor who doesn't know crap about the subject? Has anyone actually gotten a good professor when their course said, "The Staff?" Is it really hit or miss? Kinda sucks how I can know nothing about whose teaching the course.

They’re probably deciding between a few professors from within the department.

It really is hit and miss, so if you’re a gambling man, go for it.

“Staff” means they haven’t officially decided who’s teaching the class. When they have official decision, they’ll put the professor’s name in schedule of class. You can always wait until they make the update. Until then, it’s hit-and-miss.

Don’t think that the professor on the registrar is set in stone. I had professors that switched lectures on the first day of class for chemistry 20B in Winter 2010.
