aj - which part of india are you from? my folks are from madras though i have lived in california all my life

same here, lived in cali all my life, by my folks are from mumbai/bombay

Yeah i'm from Mumbai too....I know ALOT of people from Mumbai comin there this fall....atleast 7-8 off the top of my head.

oh, thats pretty cool, im visiting india this summer after 4 years, so should be awesome. a bunch of us should meet up at the school, head start on new friends

haha, hopefully the fighting illini have a great football year again, though for pro sports, Go Giants! Go 49ers (something needs to be done), and Warriors next year!

Yeah we should meet up....
And for some reason i dont think the Fighting Illini will have a good season...

eh well, maybe we can manage second in the Big 10 again. haha, my dad went to Michigan after he did his undergrad at IIT, and he's not too excited about Rich Rodriguez lol

hahah, I know very little about American football. Its virtually unheard of here in India....the only sports we know are Cricket, Soccer and maybe Hockey.....but i cant wait to get invovled in football....hope i find a mentor or something..lol

Aj - you will pick it up. most guys do -- even though it looks crazy in the begginning -- it is apparently an awesome sport with a lot of strategy. Also, my dad still watches cricket (even in the middle of the night) -- i can understand the passion for the sport coming from India.

On the other hand, I have no interest in either (unfortunately). We have season tickets to the 49ers but have never been to a single game. Hopefully I will be indoctrinated at UIUC

dude, im HUGE into sports, man i'd love to take you guys to a game! aj-im really into cricket too, i actually started a cricket club at my school, and played in a local adult league as well, haha only in the Bay Area can such things happen. Actually, illinois has a cricket team i believe. but yeah, sports and politics lol, 3 years of debate, 4 yrs varsity sports, just made high school a lot more fun. But really, college football is just something that everyone goes to, so you'll pick it up quickly.

I hope so. All I know is that the New England Patriots and New York Giants are kick-ass teams.
I'm really into politics too, (much more than sports definately)
