So who will I be seeing at ADOCH/TWW?

Hey, thanks for the thread. I'll be there, I finally managed to convince my parents to let me use my airline miles. I can't wait to see everyone there---anyone know about the PLME reception??
Thanks bunches--
Peace--> Rory

I'll be going to ADOCH! I'd also be going to TWW, but then I'd be missing 3 days of school, and that'd be all kinds of annoying. Three of my friend and I are all planning on taking the train up to Brown from Metro Park, NJ.

And hah. 4/20. That'll be interesting.

I'll be there. I don't think I"ll go to TWW though (anybody knows what actually happens during TWW?)

I got a tentative schedule for TWW in my acceptance packet. I don't know where it is online, and I'm too lazy to type out the entire thing w/ times... But on Wednesday there's registration, dinner, a "cultural show" and an ice cream social. On Thursday there's breakfast, classes to visit, Lunch with other TW students, a Student Panel, and a Third World Activities Fair. (and then we leave).

Hey, i'll be at Metro Park too. Maybe i'll c u there. Wondering, are your parents coming?

Not on the train, they'll be driving up later because of work.

For those of you going to both ADOCH and TWW, are you going to stay with the same host?

Did anyone buy train tickets yet?

Do we have to stay with the same host both nights? Has anyone registered for TWW yet?

I plan on having a TWW host for both nights.

Why?

Is everyone who is invited to TWW going? I might, but I'll miss too much school. I'm already missing 5 days of school for college visits, and TWW will add a day. What difference do you think going to this program will make?

I just want to hang out at Brown for an extra day, and I don't want to drive home on 4/20. It helps that I'm on spring break.

Just a question about the getting from the Providence airport to Brown...my mom is paranoid about me getting into a cab, so is there any other method of transportation? Like a shuttle bus to take you to Brown?

If you bothered to read the info... (just kidding)

There is a cheap (probably ghetto) shuttle running every hour on the hour.

That being said, take a damn cab. Where is your mom from?

oops, i meant why would you want a TWW host for both nights?

In general, a cab is safer than a little shuttle bus thing....

A cab has a license if it's legit....

we live in a pretty small town in florida...definitely don't use cabs there. thanks for the help :) I did read the info, but I didn't know that TF Green airport is the Providence airport, so I was confused...

Step-by-step way to getting from the airport to Brown:

Stop thinking about the shuttle bus.

When you arrive, wait near the cab line, but not in it.

As people pass by you going toward the cab line, ask them each if they are going to Brown. Gather a group of three.

Get in a cab and ask for 75 Waterman ST.

Tip the cabbie 10-15%. It should be about $30 for the three of you ($10 each)

This is college now, and Mommy doesn't have to know a thing
