It's that time of year again. Who's going to be there?

I am! but I don't have much choice...

Here's another way of asking the question.

Who is voluntarily going to the Army-Navy game without being required to wear any kind of uniform, plans on sitting occasionally and doing absolutely no marching or pushups?

We'll be there. Lots better time than last year -- my husband deployed to Iraq on game day! He just got home is looking forward to having some fun!

MOT - I won't be there but I'll be watching it on TV while wearing my "goatbusters" t-shirt. ;) GO ARMY!! BEAT NAVY!!

WAMom,

Maybe next year? I'll be there - likely freezing.

Yep, maybe next year. I want to go at least once while my son is a cadet. After two trips to WP this year I have to save up some money before I can go see the Army-Navy game.

That is one advantage to watching on TV....I will not be freezing!

hubby and I will be going.........

and should anyone find themselves with some tickets that they have no need for, PLEASE DO send me a PM!!!!!!!! I am in need of 3 more!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!! :)

Freezing was last year in Philly - I will think warm for you in Baltimore - momoftwins!

Sadly, with my d in Alabama - I will not be in attendance - makes me sad because Baltimore is a beautiful city.

WaMom68 - start saving those pennies!! I want you out here next year!!!

JAM,

Last year was cold, but 2 years ago was miserably, torturously brutal. I'm soooo hoping for a bit more moderate weather, but am expecting to freeze. That way I can be pleasantly surprised.

My son and I are actually heading to Baltimore on Thursday evening. Our cadet is attending the Army-Navy swim meet on Thursday. Then we'll be tourists in DC on Friday.

Just a tidbit, if u contact your congressmen and tell them they typically will get an intern to give you a private tour of the capital...give yourself a couple of hours for the tour. (metro will drop you rt there) Get the card especially if you want to go out to Arlington (too far to walk when u hit all of the sites)

If this your first trip to the area make sure you also hit the white house tourist area, lots of info and you can get their ornaments, they are beautiful and great gifts. I have 1 for every year my dh has been in, and my kids love putting their years on the tree...at their age now that's about all they put on, I am left with the rest. Sorry if I accidently insulted you if you do not celebrate xmas

I am not going to miss that game.. NEXT YEAR! :0 And I love Philly so will make a vaca of it I hope.

GO NAVY! BEAT ARMY!

bulletandpima,

You couldn't possibly insult anyone who doesn't celebrate Christmas just by telling us about a lovely family tradition. Here's hoping we never get so "politically correct" that we can't be proud of the beautiful ways we celebrate all of our different holidays. So thank you for both the story and the tourist info.

i'll be at the game. my seats are not great, but they are "in" the stadium and not in a sports bar or living room. ;-)

We will be there too. Like MOT, I'm hoping for good weather. I heard it was snowing at WP yesterday.

Accuweather long range for Baltimore 12/1/07. High of 54 and mostly sunny. We can only hope. They have to get it right sometime.

Mom,
Check out the Thompson thread, unforunately I think there are people who would twist what I was really talking about (tourist info) to me being prejudice and forcing my religion on other people.

b&p,

After just about 3 years on cc, I have learned which threads to avoid - and I try to avoid any political discussions. Why? Because we aren't discussing, we're just typing and some people are just emoting. It's tough enough to talk face-to-face about politics. There have been just too many miscommunications and misunderstandings here when it comes to politics. I just went through the Thompson thread and know that I have learned well. Don't let the idiots get you down! ;)

I want to thank you for posting the tourist info. I haven't been to DC in years and found it helpful. I don't celebrate Christmas, but found absolutely nothing offensive or insulting in a comment about ornaments. I'll repeat, you described a lovely family holiday tradition.

I'm just dying to know your dog's name. I only know of Scott AFB in Illinois.

p.s. I have to admit that I always love shogun's history lessons. :)

Sadly, will be in a sports bar but with our state's parent club members and sponsored by the Atl Alumni association. West point alumni and parents also invited so should be a wild time.

Went last year and froze... Did have a good time with the Mid in Phili after the game. Was easy for him to get back to Annapolis on the train.

Hope to be in Phili next year.

Our pets are:
Myrtle (after the afb in s.c.---we rescued here there
Mac after McDonnel Douglas (they produce the Strike Eagle ---dh says its the ownly plane that will always get you home)
Maquire (our first who has died) was named after afb we were married at. As you can see we have an M and a military theme. We joke that after he retires our next dog will be named Mister.
