hello everyone, yet another thread by me =). Well this time I want to know what I can do to familiarize myself with the field of investment banking, and finance in general. Is there a certain site I can go to? is there a certain article I can read? and another thing, I would like to play something like a fake virtual stock market that uses real time numbers and stuff and I can play with some fake money and see how good I am at investing incase I want to become a stock broker! (im a senior in HS, so I think I should familiarize myself with the industry) thanks

youd get better skills for stock brokering working in sales than investing

First off, good field to be looking at. You'll never be out of a job but you won't make 50mm a year unless you're absolutely awesome.

Pickup the vault guide to finance interviews

Sign up for a subscription to the wall street journal(briefly follow the markets)

Get an internship with a small franchise FA (Ameriprise, Edwards, Scottrade etc)

Keep your GPA high and apply for private wealth management internships (Goldman, UBS, etc)

Try taking some oral communications classes

Sign up for info sessions with investment banks, if you seem like a personable person, you'll have +10 to landing a brokerage position. Some firms require that you attend a networking session prior to being granted an interview.
