SOAR Parking on Day 1 for 'Locals'

<p>A long explanation for locals who want to save $4:</p>

<p>When you come to SOAR and your child has already taken the placement tests, you don't need to arrive on Day 1 until 1:15 pm. The parking instructions state to park under Union South temporarily, go inside the Union, purchase a Lot 17 parking permit (only full-day permits for $10 are sold) and then proceed to Lot 17. If you tried to go directly to Lot 17, the SOAR guy in the neon green vest near the entrance road to Lot 17 will give you the same story - that you need to turn around, go inside Union South first and purchase a permit.</p>

<p>This is not true - you can go directly to Lot 17 and purchase a half-day permit for $6 for Day 1.</p>

<p>Today I noticed a sign that the Lot 17 permit rates will increase on July 1st. The full day rate will increase from $10 to $12, the half day rate will increase from $6 to $7.</p>
