SOAR Registration Is Up

Just letting everyone know that SOAR registration is now open.

Are there any advantages to registering as early as possible? Since I might not know for a while which exact date I’ll want to or be available to attend, I’m kind of hoping I can hold off registering for a while until more summer plans are figured out.

For what it’s worth (which if my paycheck tells me anything, it’s that my opinion isn’t worth all that much), unless you are hopelessly lost as to how to register, or just really, really want to go, I’d suggest not going.

Totally useless orientation.

I tend to agree with NBrink. My daughter is a freshman. We are from OOS so did not attend SOAR. I was never clear what the point was. Freshman registration is done entirely by the student’s major program (block registration). If you end up needing to change a class it is pretty intuitive how to do it.

I think SOAR started when freshman did have to do their own registration. With block registration it is not clear to me why they still do it.

Transfers only have one day for SOAR and I will be attending, mostly because I will already be in SLO (moving in 3 weeks) and because that’s the first time I’ll have a chance to look at my schedule, talk to counselors, make changes, etc. I think it will be helpful for transfers at least because we only have 2 years to get everything we need done. It definitely isn’t necessary but I will be attending because I’ve been told it was helpful.
