I’m thinking of applying to Dickinson, but I’m a bit worried about the social scene there.
Are the students there very preppy or exclusive?
Are there a lot of parties on campus and is the Greek presence very noticeable?
Is there a push to go Greek and are there things to do besides participate in Greek life?
What is Carlisle like, are you ever bored and is there plenty to do on and off campus?
My kid who attended is not preppy, just pretty “normal”. She doesn’t come from tons of money, and didn’t join a Greek organization. She was super busy with clubs & friends on campus by the end of 1st semester. Her friends didn’t seem to be preppy or wealthy. Her boyfriend (met at Dickinson) did join a frat, but it was service focused (don’t know if they even had a house), and he is not much of a partier. Definitely apply, and go to accepted student days if you get in to help with your final decision.
