My daughter has been accepted at Dickinson and has heard that social life at the school is largely driven by alcohol and Greek parties. Given that this exists to one degree or another at most schools, do people think this is accurate or a bit of an overstatement for Dickinson? Another way of putting it is - can you fit it and be comfortable, happy outside of that scene? Thanks for any feedback.

My D is a junior at Dickinson. There is alcohol, but that's true at any school. She has gotten through the better part of 3 years and had a very active social life without being part of the Greek/party scene. There are tons of things to do on campus, and none of her social crowd drinks at all, even though most have turned 21 by now. I wouldn't let that concern you.
