DD has been accepted (yay) and we wondered about whether students stick around on the weekends or if everyone goes home. What is campus life like?

Student life is what each individual student makes it to be. If a student wants to stay in their residence hall or home all weekend, that is their decision. However, we encourage students to become involved in one of our student organizations from our over 150 clubs, 37 fraternities or sororities, intramural or varsity sports among many other opportunities. There is plenty for our students to be involved in on campus, students just have to find an activity that is right for them!

Are there any students out there that can give the straight scoop on whether Montclair is a suitcase college???
thanks

im from nj and know a lot of kids who go to montclair. While theyve built new dorms and campus facilities, this is a school where A LOT of kids go home on the weekends. Social life usually either involves going to NYC, or home to hang out with your old friends from town. This is really the reason why I didn’t even bother applying to this suitcase school.
