I was curious, how much do "Tulane students party?"

Not a student (a parent). But I do know it was Jazzfest this weekend and lots of kids went to that, particularly because Dave Matthews was there.

Also, the "partying" might be a little subdued this week because Finals are just starting. My son, who calls the parying scene at Tulane "positively epic", said that most people he knew didn't do quite as much this weekend as normal because of exams. Finals end on 5/6.

As curiouser said, this weekend was Jazzfest (as is this upcoming weekend), which has been hard because this is finals week, so not as many people have been going out. But during a normal week, most people go out on Tuesdays, which is one of our biggest nights. Most stay on campus and go to 50 cent night at the Boot which is always a good time, and then late night at the Palms. Thursdays are also big- usually people go off campus to F&Ms, Ms. Mae's, etc., and then wind up back on campus late night. Fridays and Saturdays everyone kind of does their own thing, whether it be downtown (like at Pat O's) or just random bars or parties. There is ALWAYS something to do, and ALWAYS people out at the bars, whether it be a Monday night (monday night club at the Palms) or a Friday night. There is an endless amount to do.

Sounds about right.

The thing about Tulane is that you never have to look for anything to do. You simply step outside and there WILL be some place to go and something to do. Every night has the potential of being a party night, it's just what you want to make of it.

EDIT: FS, I know you live in Sharp with me. . .do I know you?

The social life at tulane is incredible. I highly doubt you will find a better social scene at any other school. Not only do we have frat parties and house parties but we have the clubs and bars as well to go along with them. As a freshman I typically go out on Tuesday, thursday, friday and saturday nights. If I don't have a lot of work during the week I may occasionally choose to go to "big cup night" at a local bar on a wednesday. Alternatively, I occasionally decided to opt for a nice home cooked meal at the Chabad house (shabbat dinner) on friday and stay in watching movies. There is always something to do here, but you don't have to go out to have a good time. In good conscious it is fair to warn that without good time management skills you will suffer here. Its an intense social scene combined with intense academics. When they say 'work hard, play hard' it comes with the notion that if you want to stay and keep on having that amazing social scene you have to work hard in school to keep that scholorship. I think almost all the students at tulane realize that and therefore study just as hard as we party.
