I am an incoming freshman who is taking a social science/humanities elective in the fall and writing 20 in the spring. What particular ss/hum electives are the most worthwhile to take? Which ones are the easiest?

Also, which electives require the least amount of work?

I took a lower level english class (eng 51 I believe) and that wasn't too bad at all. 4 papers, a few books, just class discussion and whatnot. From someone who dislikes english very much, it actually still remains one of my favorite classes after 2 years at Duke too.

Are there any other easy A courses?

lower 100-level art histories are usually not too bad. I'd also look at anything that ends in "& Society"...those are usually classes designed for nonmajors so they basically require minimal work to get a good grade. Even as a Chemistry major I took PPS/Biology 48...Genetics and Society...probably studied 15 minutes for the final and got an A.

I have a few options for fulfilling my humanities/social science elective this fall.

Culanth 49S - First-year Seminar
Phil 42 - Intro to Philosophy
Psy 114 - Personality

Which one should I do? Any insights? Are there any other electives I should consider? Note: I have a pretty heavy workload as it is so please help me choose a class that does not require too much work.

what is the topic for culanth 49S and who is the teacher....i might be able to help with that one if you provide me with more info
