Social Science Wars: Microeconomics vs. Macroeconomics

Which AP class is more fun/interesting/easy and why? Which AP exam is easier?

Personally, I enjoyed Macro a lot more than Micro. Macro focuses more on the overall economy, while Micro tends to look at the “business” side of the economy. Seeing how I do not own a business, I found Macro more interesting. Besides, it is nice knowing how some of the things in our economy/government work.

As to the level of difficulty, I believe that Micro is a little (just a little) bit harder. I believe this because Micro requires you to deal with stuff that is a little bit more detailed (different types of competition, their characteristics, graphs, etc.), while Macro is a bit more general (broader concepts, not many graphs). Then again, my opinion might be biased, as I personally enjoy Macro more than Micro.

I hope this answers your question. Just ask if you want to know more.

I just took the micro exam, and I’ve heard that macro has more analogies and such on the exam questions from a senior who took macro. I suck at abstract reasoning so  I think I was safe with micro. Frankly I don’t know what the exam is like, as I gave up macro realizing that I could not cram.

What do you mean by analogies? I thought that Macro was pretty straightforward.

I only took Micro and the test was harder than practice tests I took. I would be overjoyed to score a 3. Therefore, I’m not really a fan of Micro at the moment, even if I liked learning it throughout the year. I will end up taking Micro and Macro in college, so I’ll wait until then to decide which one I like better.

I liked Micro better.
