What is the job outlook for social studies/ history teachers? (I'd like to teach high school). Also, is it almost necessary to get a masters to find a job?
Does anybody know about the following universities' secondary education programs:
Syracuse
Marquette
Stony Brook
UNC Charlotte
Salisbury
University at Buffalo
Rutgers
Drexel

Not sure about the outlook-but a masters will really help you! (also if your flexible about where you want to teach a job would be more possible-then you could move when you have more experience) (the other nice thing is there is a 1 year master program MAT-so it’s really not that bad)

Also, I would like to suggest that you consider that each state has its own teaching licensing programs-so when you pick your school if you’re not getting a masters-you should probably pick the state in which you most likely want to teach (don’t go to Buffalo if you don’t want to teach in NY unless your doing a masters program-I say this because when my mother taught whenever she moved to a different state she had to take more classes in addition to her already earned bachelor degree. With a masters this is probably less likely to happen.)

Also, if you do a masters-your salary will go up (like 10 grand more)

UNC Charlotte has a MAT program as does as does Stony Brook, Salisbury-not sure about the other schools.
