Next fall I will be entering Geneseo as a sophomore transfer student. I am required to complete a service learning project to be accepted to the school of education and I’m kind of freaking out. How did everyone else get into a school and become a volunteer in a classroom? My mom works at a school and even she thinks it’s difficult for just anyone to walk in and ask to be placed in a class. Please help!
service learning isn’t just in a classroom. It can be any sort of volunteering where you’re able to reflect on what you learned from your service (ie., social and economic realities, human behaviors, cultural norms and how these can trip a volunteer or a person they try to help, language issues, etc.)
