Hey all,
I was basically curious about how much math competition scores can help in MIT’s admission process? I know they have a spot for AIME and AMC scores, but how high should the scores be, and how much could they help you?
Thanks

Use your best judgment on this. Personally, I wouldn’t report really low scores (e.g. a 50 on the AMC) but definitely report if you scored well (e.g. passing).
Oh no, my scores arent terrible and are definitely reportable (141 amc10, 115.5 amc12, 9 aime, jmo qualification), but I’m mostly curious about how much of an impact these scores could potentially have?
dude that’s pretty good lol, especially the 141 amc10 and jmo qualification. It definitely helps a lot and could potentially be the thing on your app that gets you in. What ethnicity are you, though? I’ve seen a lot of asian males get rejected from lotts of schools even with usamo qualification and math awards.
What about USACO silver division?
