solid SAT prep

Anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the SAT? I've done it only once, got a 2100, but I'm looking to break at least 2200. I have half of deccember and alll january, before the 28th, to prep. Anyone have any good tips or schedules for prepping that I can follow?

there's always xiggi's method on cc...

what I found was helpful for me was the buy Gruber's New SAT book and follow his guidlines for long term prep. he breaks down the book and tells you what to do and when etc.

also, www.prepme.com is cheaper than most of the princeton review/ kaplan services and it was pretty beneficial.

what I personally did (kinda last minute cramming) I bought the Gruber's book, learned the strategies/ etc. that he said to do... took 3 practice tests (reviewed the specific "skills" that the book said to.) and did alot of the exercises etc. Gruber's book is pretty comprehensive and gives a good plan of action if you will.

the 5 days leading up to the actual test... I took 3 tests from the collegeboard book (reviewed what I got wrong) while working with the www.prepme.com site.

I got a lot accomplished/ done during this short time frame (~9 days)... and since your have a lot of time inbetween... if you work hard I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Try to have at least 30-45 minutes of SAT practice a day... I think the consistency helps.

I've never taken the princeton review or kaplan etc. but I'm sure those are really helpful too.

cr - grammatix
w - princeton review grammar smart + practice
m - practice

by practice, i mean to grab every single real sat you can get your hands on and take them.

thanks. Well I wish I could purchase the books you guys said, but I live in Costa Rica so any of these books would take about a month to get here....the only ones I have right now are the CB one, the one that has 8 real tests, and the PR one
pianote-I'm seriously considering dedicating 2 hrs/per day to this stuff.... I'm desperate for a good score lol

What is emphasized in the "Xiggi method"?
