Some dumb questions

<p>So I realize that these questions may be common knowledge, but I'm not quite sure as to the answers
1. How many essays do I have to write for college? I know I have to write one for the common app, but what are these "supplements"?
2. My counselor gave me a printed copy of the common app and said to print the answers. How do I do that? Should i just print another common app myself?
3. My counselor told me to give her a copy of my common app essay. Does this mean that the school will send colleges my essay instead of me?
4. Finally, is it better to write college essays in the "story" form? I've seen that a lot by lurking.
Thanks, sorry for long post</p>

<p>1] you write one essay fro common app-Common app is a Common application which most colleges accept
-Supplements-Many colleges have their own supplements which you have to fill out-which again have an essay or two to write and prompts too.
2]No-easier way is to create an online account and send to the respective college through this. After you have finished a Common App and supplement of one college you will be prompted to hit the submit button.Alternatively you can submit a paper application by filling it and posting it.
3] No-the essay(s) go together with the full application.Your counselor asked for the essay because she may be wanting to read it .
4]It is best to write an essay in your voice.Anything goes as long as it shows genuineness and is written clearly and flow well.Remember there are word limits.</p>

<p>Start by researching your colleges and checking on their websites what all forms they shall be needing.Make an excel sheet of all colleges you are applying to with forms needed and deadlines on your desktop or laptop.Creating an account on Common App website.Save your colleges.Start Common App.You can go back to it and make changes as many times as you like till the tad end.Once you hit ‘submit’ you are done. It’s not that difficult provided you take out time and do some research first.Even the Common App website has a FAQ.Read it. Hope that helps.</p>

<p>Thanks that really cleared things up for me  I just have two more questions. Where do I actually obtain the common app? Do I only have to fill one out, or do I have to fill out another for each college I apply to? And is it POSSIBLE that my counselor could send colleges my essay? Is she allowed to?</p>

<p>1 <a href=“https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx[/url]”>https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx&lt;/a&gt; - the common app will open on august 1st. You fill it out and select the colleges you wish to send it to. You do not need to fill it out for every college. You just need to fill out the supplements for every school.
2. Usually you have to send it. If you apply online you can submit with your application. (But you may be able to have your counselor send it. Talk to her )</p>

<p>Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it :)</p>
