Hey there people!

I have some general question I'm hoping somebody can help me with?

I'm using the common app to transfer (hopefully) to USC. I have Two essay versions, one that is geared to USC specifically, and one that is for the other colleges I am applying to. How do I go about sending my "USC specific" essay (their app is due Feb1). I want to submit that essay to them, but the more "universal" essay to the other schools I am applying to. I believe I read that this is possible, but I don't know exactly how to do it...

Also, I am trying to assign a "recommender" right now. If that person accepts it now, but turns in the letter after Feb 1 (application deadline for USC), will that be bad? Or do they give some "leeway" for LORs?

You’ll submit to each school separately and revising between submissions is easy. Submit first to USC, then revise your app and submit to the next school. Your main essay can only be submitted in a total of 3 versions. The third version will be locked permanently and cannot be changed for submission to other schools. All other parts of your app are easily and freely changeable between submissions as much or little as you like.

You may want to contact USC directly to get the best info about whether recs submitted after the deadline will be considered. But, you will certainly be able to submit without waiting on that rec, so long as you have assigned the recommender.

Thank you for clarifying that for me!

I contacted USC and they said if it (LOR) is going to be late to just call them and things should be fine… they said that they understand certain things are outside the applicants control…
