HELP! Worst nightmare or not an issue...?

So I didn't realize that once you submit your common application to one school, you cannot make any changes to it. Anyways, I wrote a stellar essay for USC (not on common app) but wanted to also use it for common app. The essay fits into the Common App Essay #1 (significant experience) but on the top of my essay I submitted I left the original USC prompt (slightly different). Bottom line is that while the essay doesn't mention USC at all in my essay or in the prompt, I am wondering if I should submit alternate copies to every college I apply to. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...

Not sure what to tell you except as a caution for other students not to put a name of any school in the list until you actually submitting in case you hit the submit button by mistake. Also make sure you print out the copy of your common application and proof read it before sending. My D's Common Application has been finished since August but she still has not submit to any school just in case she might change something last minute.

You can make what Common App now calls "alternate versions," similar to last year's Copy function. So you can, in fact, make changes before you submit your application to another school. Search for the term, and you'll find a lot of threads with the instructions on how to do this.
