Some good clubs to join?

Hi, so I was recently admitted into UC San Diego as a Physiology and Neuroscience major and will be going down the pre-med path. If I end up going to UCSD (which will be the case if I get rejected from Cal, LA & USC which will most likely happen) then I want to know which clubs will be best to join to make my application to medical school shine. My extracurriculars were really good in high school which were beneficial for my UC application and I want the same thing to happen when I apply for medical schools (it would be a dream-come-true if I were to be admitted into UC San Francisco School of Medicine). So I just wanted to know for anyone who knows if they can give me advice on which clubs would be best to join at UCSD. I looked up their extracurriculars and I will almost certainly join quiz bowl as I did in high school but there are, like, five different medicine-related clubs (it's better to join the one I want to join rather than join all of them, right?). I would prefer clubs that are involved in competitions so that I can hopefully win some trophies and medals as I did in high school and be able to talk about those in my medical school interviews and applications. Some advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Korean101,

Just wondering, how did you already hear about being admitted to UCSD?

@SmoothAl: UCSD called some admitted students (mostly URM’s but other groups as well such as Regents Scholars) letting them know that they got in. I got my call Monday night.

Interesting, I would consider myself as a minority that’s not represented much, but no call. Well congrats on your admission.

Thank you! But can someone please answer my question?

@smoothal don’t worry if you haven’t gotten a call, they don’t have the man power to call every single student.
