some is fishy.....

why are a lot of dumb ppl geting into good schools at my school? its a competitive school and its like 700 ppl in my senior class....i mean they arent dumb, they are average but most of the ppl i know are really smart in any case though...i think they might be turnign in their transcripts themselves and changing information.....isnt this possible? because i dont see how soem of these ppl are getting into places i wouldnt expect....i know i know, i have already heard the story how ppl get their transcripts and then write the schools address on the envelope and then send it off at the post office to the school but that is retarded....that cant work.....i just dont see how some of these ppl got into great schools....

Perhaps these people are smarter than you give them credit for, or maybe they have some outstanding ECs you're not aware of, or maybe they jus effing rich!!

transcripts are sent in with special stamps, a seal, and in school envelopes...anything less is "unofficial" and the college won't accept it

as well, when the new grades are in for winter semester, schools are sent transcripts automatically from hs, so if stuff doesn't matchup, you could get busted

Hummm.

And why did Bob Nardelli leave his CEO job at Home Depot (as a failure and after the company's stock took a nose dive while Loews' stock increased...) with a severance package of $210 million ?

If you or I fail at our jobs we certainly won't be paid for it - much less to the tune of $210 million.

Why does this happen over and over again in corporate America?

And why do the unqualified children of the rich, famous, politically connected, etc... get admitted to the bests schools and the hard working (yet poor or unconnected) kids get left in the dust?

I wonder.

Actually, my school doesn't always officially seal the envelope.
But they do stamp this huge engraving into it that says our school district's name.
Anyway, they still can't be forged.

the seal is on the transcript itself....the envelope can have a stamp across the back...

when we give the students a copy of their transcript, we stamp 'unofficial" on it in such a way it can't be whited out

oh ok, well geez lol, i didnt mean for this to seem like a forging of transcript kinda post, i was just trying to see if there was any possible way that these less qualified ppl got in over some other qualified ppl at my school....look guys im not talking about only honors students who dont take AP...im literally talking about ppl in regular classes lol.

Everyone has different opinions on what a "Great school" is. What are the stats of the students you are talking about, and what schools were they admitted to? Also keep in mind that academics isn't everything with college admissions.

Grades, SATs, class rankings are only few factors that influence decisions.

there are always essays, rec letters, interviews etc that play a big role in the admissions process

And your definition of "more qualified" may not be the same as the colleges'.
