I’m taking AP Comparative Government next year and as the title implies I have a few questions about the course.

I read on the AP Central Website that a new course description will be published

I have no idea what this means. Are they saying they’re changing the countries again or are they just adding extra material?

Would the Ethel Wood book still suffice? Also the 2nd Edition is updated to reflect the changes right (new countries like Nigeria etc)

And finally, Any tips?

They can't make any major changes because they did so very recently. However, they may add or remove some random things, but nothing huge. For example, although they definitely won't add a new country, or remove a country altogether, they may require you to know certain things more in-depth. Keep in mind that only the course description is changing, and not the exam itself.

The Ethel Wood book would definitely suffice, and it is updated to reflect the new exam.

Every single AP seems to have a new updated course description being printed out. As far as I know, they seem to update the course descriptions every 2 years, but the exams themselves are not really updated information-wise. If Collegeboard changed the exam format, or added a new country to the Comparative Government exam, I'm sure Collegeboard would let us test-takers know. I know for French, they changed the exam content, and put a link to a list of the changes made on the French exam page. If there isn't any change done on this page, http://apcentral.collegeboard.com/apc/public/courses/teachers_corner/2258.html then there shouldn't be any problems.
