Hi, I am currently a Junior in high school, and I have few questions regarding the admissions process

1) I read a book that had sample resumes in it. One of those resumes said that the person's hobby was reading Time/Newsweek/Popular Science magazines (5 hours perweek/52 weeks peryear) Not only that, but the book recomended us to write such [menial?] tasks on the application? What is your view on this issue?

2) Also regarding the college application, I was just wondering how specific to get in terms of awards won, etc. Should I list every single little award I won, such as "distinguished academic award," which is awarded to all students at my school with a straight A academic record. Also, I am internationally ranked for solving the Rubik's Cube. If I am ranked 146th, does this mean anything? How about if I am ranked 26th? Or is solving a Rubik's Cube as fast as possbile viewed as merely a frivolous activity, in the eyes of the admissions committee?

3) Due to familial circumstances, I may have to transfer schools. However, since I will be transferring into another school as a senior, they are not willing to rank me, regardless of whether my GPA is reweighted or not. Yet, whether they reweight my GPA or not, I would be ranked first in that class (of 268 students). I am currently in the top decile of my current school of 166 students (my current school only ranks with the decile system). The problem is, the school i want to transfer into will nto even provide a decile ranking for me....and they said they would only show NR (no rank) on my transcript...would this impact my application in any negative way? Or will colleges see that my GPA is higher than the studnet ranked 1st, and even though I was unranked, they will extrapolate a reweighted ranking for me?

4) Also, the other schools all have a more rigorous curriculum than my current school (which offers only 9 AP courses. The school that i would prefer to transfer into has 23 AP courses) The problem is, will colleges view my schedule as being "unchallenging" if i transfer schools? My schedule would be AP calcAB/AP physicsAB/AP english/AP french/AP compsci/AP bio/APeuro. however, a more advanced schedule would include at least APcalcBC/APphysicsBC/AP stat....Does this impact my application in any negative way?

Thanks in advance for your time!
