Some Questions about SUNY at Buffalo

DS got his acceptance packet today! He also was offered $12,000 for 4 years- Provost Scholarship. Now we need to schedule a visit. He did interview at an Ohio School on Tuesday for a special pharmacy program that would mean he would have a seat without interviewing or taking the PCAT if he achieved a 3.5 gpa for 3 semesters. Now we need to compare that to UB’s early assurance pharm program.

Does anyone know how competitive the UB architecture program is?

Marching band takes a lot of commitment, I don’t know how that would work with all the pre requistes for Pharmacy school. The school is shifting to a 2 year prepharm to a 3 year, requiring more courses to be completed before the actual graduate program.
You normally apply to the school in general and after all the pre-reqs are complete you apply to the pharmacy program. Going to UB directly from college gives your son the option of early assurance which I would definitely advise to take advantage of. Just need to keep the grades up above a certain GPA and with an interview you are selected to the program. There isn’t a 100% change but a pretty high chance.

UB kind of has 3 campuses. North, South and Downtown campus. Downtown is where more of the research setting is at. The Pharmacy school will be moving to its new home on South campus, Fall of 2012. We get our own building.

The weather isn’t that bad either. Currently, I have barely snowed. I don’t even want to say it snowed. It was only a little bit.

Im sure you can apply to get scholarships through the undergraduate program and there is a need base scholarship for pharmacy students as well. There is also FAFSA if you need that.
