I am looking for a few peers who are applying to TOP20 colleges for transfer admissions. I think we can form a small group working together and encouraging each other. Transferring can be stressful, but with several aspiring minds, things will get easier. Please message me if anyone has begun planning on transfer applications.

Thanks!

Ronaldo -- Sorry UB has disappointed you. What happened?

Well... UB did not disappoint me. I am having a decent time here: having a circle of good friends, doing well in class and extracurricular activities, making friends with several of my professors.... UB does a pretty good job in terms of helping students land on their jobs after graduation. If I want to have a nice salary, going for pharmacy or pre-med here might be great choices. However, I do think that the goal of undergraduate education should be more than getting the student a job after graduation. It should challenge one to find whom he/she is, what kind of person he/she wants to be, and how his/her leadership potential can be fulfilled to benefit the society.... Many kids around me wonna do pharmacy at UB, but I did not see their real passion for it... Again UB is a good school, but it is not for everyone. I visited several schools in the northeast, and find a couple of them will be better matches for me. I would love to look for 1 or 2 peers here at UB who are also thinking about transferring out to the top colleges. Again, this will be hard, but I am making it happen! Thanks Orchestramom! Let me know if you know someone who is also working on this!

Ronaldo, You express yourself very well. I don't know anyone working on transfers (my freshman D is settling in well, at least so far). What schools are you looking at? Are you specifically looking for pharmacy? I live in the Capital District, and I have head really great things about the Albany College of Pharmacy. Best of luck to you.

I mean I am still not so sure about what I will be exactly doing in future (not pharmacy though). I am doing a science and economics double major right now, and might go for technology entrepreneurship in future. This is plan A. For plan B, I might go for pure finance. Personally I think I really need the rest 2 years of college to develop my real passion, but unfortunately UB is not such a place for me. For schools, I am looking at some ivies, and a couple of schools in the west, and one liberal arts college. They are very hard to transfer in though, but no harm trying! Any suggestions?
