So after high school, I attended Temple University for 2 years. During these 2 years, I had serious personal and emotional issues battling depression and anxiety. I had no idea what I was going to do with ny life and my future looked unclear. I never went to my classes. Sad enough, this went on for 2 years (1 of these semesters I tried buckling down and got As, Bs, and Cs). The oter 3 semesters are mostly Fs and withdrawals. Do not ask my why this went on that long, I was an impulsive, depressed kid combined with parents who had strict academic standards.

After a semester off where I did soul searching, I bettered myself and realized that school is what I needed. I enrolled in a community college and got a 3.2 the first semester and looking at a 4.0-3.7 this semester.

I am meeting with a college adviser soon to discuss my options but I would like reddit's input. I had hopes of becoming a physical therapist. Is my hope to attend a grad school out of the question? What can I do in this kind of situation? I have a back up being a bachelors in Risk Managment and Insurance.

This isn’t reddit… Lol
Maybe you should go to a state school? Or you can still apply to a private university, just use the common app to explain why your grades were bad… although not every college will even consider that, but some will
Grad school isn’t out of the question… Just make sure you get all A’s from this point forward, and get a GREAT score on your GRE test

Does your community college have an articulation agreement with a university?
Are you taking all the prereqs for Physical Therapy?
Before grad school, make sure you get into a BS or BA program that is accredited OR that can lead you to a DPT. Discuss both options with your adviser.
Since you attended Temple I assume you’re from PA (if not, there’ll be other suggestions).
Slippery Rock is probably the easiest to get into. Drexel might be a possibility but their financial aid isn’t good. Temple is another idea since you already know the school. Pitt is another idea.
You can also do any biology-related major at a Penn State branch campus, or try to transfer to University Park for a major in the College of Health and Human Development (Behavioral health, Kinesiology…). Then you can apply to the PSU DPT, as long as you also got experience (internship, shadowing…) in the field.
