some statistics

I got these statistics from princetonreview.com...i'm just pasting them into this thread because you need an account to view them on the actual website. This is a well known website so I'm pretty sure the statistics are correct.

Seems pretty accurate, I would think the average GPA would be a bit higher though!

Wish they posted the average ACT score! :(

those stats are correct. see but those are misleading. why does everyone say penn state is so unbelievably hard to gain entry to when it's average GPA is a 3.58?? the SAT's are high but not impossible. i don't get why it's so hard but then they say that's their average GPA. is it because of the high number of applicants?

Are those GPAs weighted or unweighted???? And do we know how many are instate and OSS????

I think everyone is really freaking out about everything....I mean I believe PSU is more competitive because of the large amount of applicants but it is not as impossible as it seems. People are forgetting that not everyone that applies here is smart...and there will be many people who still apply now, after the deadline, and for those of us who applied before the deadline we have priority...so I think everyone should be more optimistic.

the site didn't say if they were UW or not

<a href="http://www.admissions.psu.edu/facts/studentbody%5B/url%5D">www.admissions.psu.edu/facts/studentbody</a></p>

Of the 20,156 that were accepted it says 23.48% has a GPA that ranged from 3.25-3.49....thats roughly 4733 students and that is still a large amount so I think theres hope for a lot of us with lower GPAs and higher test scores or the other way around

yeah you do have a point btholl09. many people who apply are smart but there are tons out there who aren't geniuses. you're right, we need to calm down. penn state is tough, not impossible.
