Some TCNJ questions

Here are my questions:

My mother works there, and we have a few family friends who work there as professors. Would this give me an edge in admissions/is it worth mentioning?
Also, my mother said something about if I was to be accepted, I would get free or partial tuition because of her job. Is that also true? If it is, does it also stand true for the honor college? [She is an immigrant and her English isn’t the best- it’s not out of the question for her to misinterpreted something.]
What are the top majors for TCNJ?

I would say I’m looking at pretty competitive colleges; I doubt I’d be able to get financial aid for them, so I’m also looking at cheaper instate colleges. I do not want to graduate with too much debt. My English teacher says he’s still paying off student loans, and he’s around 40 with a family. Needless to say, that scares me.

It would appear that you would get free or partial tuition:

It would be the same case for the Honors college as the tuition is the same whether or not you are in the Honors program.

It might be good to mention that your mother works there…as they say: " The program is intended to support the College’s mission by providing an additional incentive and means of recruiting and retaining qualified employees."

I would not mention the family friends really…although if they are professors you could tell them you are applying…and if they want to put a good word in, that is on them. Or you could ask them for advice.

Probably the most popular majors are Biology, Psychology, and Education.

TCNJ is an excellent value school…be glad you can go there for free/low cost!

actually top majors(most respected) are Education, Business , health sciences. They are very very highly rated in these three categories .

@bopper @stones3 Thank you for the responses. I don’t really like those majors other than health sciences and biology, but their other majors are alright too, correct? Like statistics maybe? :-/ It’s nice to hear about the tuition though, I rather save money for graduate school and go to a more ‘selective’ university.
Thank you again. ^^

Yes, other majors like statistics are great too!

yes other majors are good as well. Statistics is also a finance major requirement.
Keep in mind it really has become a highly selective school and has a great track record of moving students on to
top grad schools.
