<p>i've been waitlisted also. it's kind of weird, because wisconsin offers stronger economics in general (as far as ranking and faculty go anyways) and i've been offered scholarship there also. i applied for UW as a safety but then i was kind of surprised that i only got waitlisted while another student at my school who doesn't have any higher credentials in any area (due to his english proficiency, he probably didn't write that bang of an essay either) got into UW honors.</p>
