I took an AP test today and I know for sure the person next to me copied my multiple choice because he was always on the same question as me. What will happen to him? Should I report him? Will everyones score be cancelled? What will happen to me?
How do you know that he was always on the same question as you ? Seems like you were looking at his answer sheet.
What if you make a false accusation ?
If you knew that someone was copying your answers, why didn’t you cover-up your answer sheet ?
In short, you may cause yourself problems by reporting your suspicion.
Hopefully, you did poorly on the test as that will teach the other that cheaters never win.
As I was getting a tissue I saw him looking at my test, I know for sure he was cheating because he has a C in AP chem
Then why didn’t you turn over your answer sheet ? Also, you had to look at his answer sheet to know that he was “always on the same question as me”.
In short, your story is already unraveling & raising more questions about you than about him.
For example, did you stand up to get a tissue so that you could look at his answer sheet ?
My suggestion is to just forget about it & move on. Plus, how would you feel if you made a false allegation against another ? Your story is not convincing.
My question is will my score be affected because they run multiple choice analysis and may discover that his match my answers. Will scores be cancelled? How does college board deal with cheaters?
I cannot answer that question. But, if he is a “C” student & you excelled in the class that was the subject of the AP test, then most will assume that you did your own work.
Another issue is whether or not you are required to report cheating or suspected cheating.
My D is taking the APUSH exam today - students at her school have to take the AP test in the auditorium, on lap desks, so that they can be seated 5 seats apart from each other, in every other row. No peeking there.
I agree with previous comments, I wouldn’t pursue this.
