HELP: someone copied my APUSH exam

so the guy sitting next to me copied my answers on the APUSH exam. i did not even notice. the proctors noticed him and called both of us out. i was called into the principals office and he says that they will report "suspicious behavior" to the collegeboard but that it is possible to include the fact that my test was the one copied in the report.

does anybody know what is going to happen to me? i would appreciate it if anyone knew the answers to 2 scenarios:
1. they just send the report
2. they send the report and mention that i was copied off of?

im so afraid that today i lost everything ive worked for in the last 3 years

argh bump please i need to know the answer to this soon

No need to be worried. You're not the one who copied so it's all good. The fact that you didn't notice him copying the whole time might be a slight fault on your part but still, nothing to be worried about.

i know but what happens when the report is submitted to collegeboard and the answers are the same? there is no way to prove conclusively that i wasn't actively LETTING him cheat, except my word and possibly the word of the school. any chance of a permanent black mark on my SATs and such?

Didn't they alternate R and Qs?

apparently they suck at distributing tests

^^^^yeah.....lol...the FACT IS THAT HE PROBABLY COPIED ALL THE WRONG ANSWERS....

Don't worry, the other guys life is over not yours.

worst thing that could happen is u get ur score canceled.

As long as the school verifies that you are the one who answered correctly, and he was the cheater, you're fine.
It'll be obvious if you two have different forms.

Call the Office of Testing Integrity. They always tell you at the beginning of the exam that if you notice any irregularities, you should call their office and speak to them. The number should be in your AP Student Pack, according to their reports, and on the Collegeboard website.

Just curious, if you do get busted, does only your grade for the test in question get canceled or do the grades for all AP tests you took that year get canceled?

Probably only that test because they can't prove that he had cheated on the previous exams, if that were the case.

has anyone seen another persons AP test before, because at our school the proctors put us way too close together and honestly all the tests where i've been able to see another person's exam (US history, English Lit, US Gov't, and Euro History) the multiple choice questions were exactly the same in the same order except for US History.

At my school we all sit at different tables in the library.

You should call collegeboard AND email them

Oh, that stinks...I'm so sorry that that happened to you. :( Yeah, I would contact the College Board, and explain your situation to them. If you contact them ahead of time, they're more likely to think that you were being honest...

A college professor was talking to me about this..
what will happen is, CollegeBoard will mail you a letter stating that they suspect that you cheated and they will ask of you to retake the exam at a test center. You either agree or disagree, but if you disagree they will send your scores to the colleges you are applying to along with a letter stating that they had suspected you of cheating. So if you disagree most likely, you're screwed.

They don't do it school by school where i live. All of the AP tests in our city (mind you its a city of over 1 million people) are administered at the convention center. APUSH yesterday probably had over 1000 kids in the largest meeting room, and each kid had like a 6 foot long table to himself.

haojin, you are certain of this?
makes me feel so much better. if i retake the exam it should be obvious that i was not the one cheating. i dont have my AP student pack thing, my school collects them again until you have finished AP testing. i still have english and psychology to go
