I need urgent help.
I had shared a google doc with a close friend to receive suggestions and edits. Considering we did a lot of the same activities, he has very, very similar descriptions to my own. Using my descriptions, he managed to be admitted to a prestigious school- one that I am applying to RD. I did not know about this until he warned me a few days ago. As the deadline approaches in a few days, I am wondering whether or not to change the descriptions. Will the colleges even know since he is from an earlier applicant pool? How does this process work?
@intparent thank you for your reply- yes, I have pretty much cut him off at this point, considering he didn’t even apologize yet. What would you say are the chances that the regional rep would remember an application from ED when there are thousands of new applications in the RD round?
I’d say they might, especially from the same school. You should be able to tweak it a little, and I assume you have some different leadership positions and awards.
I’m not generally a big fan of apologies. So he apologies, so what?? The damage is already done.
What did you think he would do with the stuff you shared? I can’t imagine any reason for the request other than to use your work. So you’re not completely blameless here. As Dear Abby used to say " No one can take advantage of you without your consent,"
