Someone help me with 3 Qns?(identify sentence error)

Yes. There is definitely no typo error. They are from CB online course. The answers CB gives are A. D. A.

What's wrong with A in #3? o_O

first one is A ,definitely. becuz i saw this problem on one of the practice tests that i took.and i have read the answer key.it said the anwer is A.

I have to agree with Baelor - there are glaring errors in these sentences other than the ones we're asked to change. If this is really how the sentence appears in the CB online course, I suggest you stop taking it because these sentences will only mess with your mind.

Could someone please explain why #3 is A?

I don't get it.

a to improve is infinitive, it should be lyk improving or something
d presses a button
e no error

yall needa stop trippin about the spellling and answer the questions...

^^ That's what I think too, but those who have the answers say that the last one is A.

Stop taking the course. Now. I'm not even kidding. It's useless. What I said is completely true. "Computers have" is correct, and "computers has" is not. Hello?!!!! Pick up your game, CB. I mean, look at the question and not the answer choices for a second. It's obviously incorrect. But A is also incorrect.

Let's look at number three:

"Businss people have met with the transportation department to voice its concerns about plans for a shopping mall in the community."

"Its" is completely incorrect. "To voice" implies (clearly, and unambiguously) that the "business people" are the ones who have concerns, otherwise they would be listening to the transportation department voice its concerns, they wouldn't be voicing them themselves. Does that make sense? If the concerns belong to the TD, then that should be the subject.

Plus, there is nothing wrong with "have met with." CB is on crack.

A
D

and the last one, i think think "its" should be their

for E?

Anyway, thanks guys! I think these three Qns indeed have some problems.
They are from practice test 4 of collegeboard online course, and I'm sure I typed correctly. I'll follow some of your advice which is to leave them aside.

i dont see where u're coming from. i checked my online course tests, the questions are not there. what number are they? and what section?

yeah i know it's in the #12-29,but what section?

because i don't think CB will publish this kind of test...

went through the tests, it's actually Test #1. anyway..

Ok here comes my anger..

"I'm sure I typed correctly. " post #31. -helen0li

dude!! what the f???

the question for 3rd one is " A newly formed ORGANIZATION of homeowners and business people have met with the transportation....
Why didn't u copy the whole sentence??? ORGANIZATION IS THE ESSENCE. damnit, u know how much trouble that phrase caused?!!!

That said, answer for 3 is A. no questions ask.

as for 1, the question is typed correctly;i think the "has" could be one of those 'copular verbs' whatever that equates whatever. i remember something like that from a BB question. "has" equates championship or something..
edit: a similar question to this "has"thingy is on page 847, #14. share me some of ur thoughts..
sorry i dont mean to be mean xD

"as for 1, the question is typed correctly;i think the "has" could be one of those 'copular verbs' whatever that equates whatever. i remember something like that from a BB question. "has" equates championship or something.."

Uhhh... "The boys has yet to win a championship." is wrong. eriod.

I'm with Baelor on all of this.

Either the OP typed the questions wrong, or CollegeBoard's prep course sucks.

There's something wrong w/ the answer choices. Should be to voice "their" concerns and not voice "its".

Wow...Typo, it should read "Period."

We could say, "Not a single one of the computers HAS won a championship." You could argue that you could say "None of the computers HAS." However, "No computers has" is pretty much wrong, IMO. No grammar rule justifies that.

blame CB!! XD

Ren the SAT'er,
I'm deeply sorry that yours are different from mine, and thus I've caused such confusion.Someone gave me the printed edition.
I think the one I have is just like what i've typed.

I'm really very sorry.
