Ugh and I can’t post from the computer because I keep getting logged out while typing a very quick response.

It happened to me as well.

I also noticed that sometimes, on the left, where it says “Latest Posts” it sometimes says “Recent Discussions” before getting that error message.

It was the UCLA acceptance thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/18250404#Comment_18250404 that was crashing CC. UCLA posted decisions for freshmen today and CC posters were sharing their anxiety and news.

Many of us are still having issues. There’s at least one thread in the Parents Cafe about this because people don’t venture down to this part of the site.

I would really appreciate an update on what is being done to fix the issues referred to in this thread. It can’t all be due to an overload due to the release of UCLA decisions because the issues are still happening.

For the past couple of days I have been occasionally logged out when I click on a thread. If I click on Log On when that happens, it logs me on without my having to input my username and password. But then my back button doesn’t work when I try to exit the thread and return to the list of new posts. Sometimes I get the “over capacity” screen (even in the wee hours of the morning, so I doubt that CC is over capacity at that time) and other times I get the “something has gone wrong” screen. Sometimes I see the " 3 new plural" notation instead of “3 new”.

I’m not alone in this. Others have described the same issues in this thread and in http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe/1754351-cc-site-issues-p1.html . What’s going on?

I am getting constantly logged out again, and getting an “over capacity” message. And the forums are saying “plurals” again instead of new posts.

Still getting logged out every third page I click on or so.

Mine has been logging me out a LOT in the past few days (figured with the admissions announcements CC would be overloaded) and got the “over capacity” or something similar when I sent a PM early this morning. Happened yesterday too.

I did get an “over capacity” message as well not too long ago, though have not been logged out (nor have I received the “something has gone wrong” error). I have forwarded this discussion to the tech team for further exploration. Thanks!

I was logged out this morning.

I’ve been logged out, and have received the “over capacity” and “oops something’s gone wrong” messages many times between Friday and today.

Wow now even when I click the login button I’m redirected back to not being logged in.
This is getting worse.

Entering the season of notification releases (including UCLA late last week) and subsequent traffic spikes on CC, though that would more readily explain the “over capacity” messages.

It sounds like the same problems described in this thread from December - back then you thought it might be a database error or server issues. Maybe it’s the same thing again?
