Something has gone wrong

In addition, there is an intermittent issue with typing responses. There seems to be a delay of some sort, making response typing very tedious.

Our tech team reached back out to the vendor about this. There was a fix deployed yesterday afternoon, but this has obviously not been effective. We’ll share updates as we have them.

Sorry for the inconvenience as we head into our most active time of year on CC.

I can tell you…the fix did NOT fix the typing issues.

Back to getting logged out every other click.

The typing issue is getting worse instead of better. Very sluggish letter recognition…skipped letters, lots of hold ups and wrong predicted words.

It’s annoying.

And the fix did not fix it.

Hi there…when you say “predicted words” what are you speaking of?

Because the letters are appearing with fits and jerks, the word spelling prediction is “off”. I’m going to type the next sentence without checking each letter…and you will see what I mean.

This site is having issues with the typing fun fun. Please fix it soon. Its driving me cry zy.

Are you using an iPad or other mobile device when you see these issues?

Yes, IPad. The typing isn’t keeping up with my fingers. I need to type one letter at a time…and wait to see if it registers on the screen.

But Lenitus…this is an new issue which began last week.

Thanks for the extra info. You are only seeing this typing lag on CC? Typically, such a lag occurs at the device level. I did a search online for “typing lag ipad” and it seems this can also be a result of an iOS update. I have an iPad2 here, but I get typing lag on just about everything because we’ve about maxed out the internal storage.

The site has been almost unusable today. Very very slow.

^ Yup. Lots of 503 errors

For me, too!

Lenitus, it is not my device. If it was my device, I would have a sluggish typing lag on other forums, or when using email. This is only happening on THIS site. And if it was my device, it would be consistent. Right now, I’m typing just fine. But I’ve been doing mostly one letter at a time posts…all day.

And I have a brand new IPad Air with plenty of memory.

Today has gone from bad to worse. The site is now double posting responses on occasion. And no, the folks have not double posted. Logging on is nearly impossible, and certainly not predictable. Going from forum to forum or thread to thread…takes a lot of time.

And I do not for one minute believe that this is due to increased traffic on this site. Sorry. Don’t believe it. This site is supposedly to help with college search and selection. Right now, there are tons of questions being asked in the financial aid area, and it is not easy to write responses…one letter at a time.

Your vendor needs to do a better job of “fixing” things when they receive a report that something is amiss.

The vendor is lousy, in my opinion.

Many, many double posts today, and the system is very slow in allowing me to delete (assuming I don’t get an error screen in the process.)

Our team keeps a very close communication with the vendor reporting all these issues. There is work done in the backend to ensure the site fully accommodates the high traffic. I hope we’ll be able to fix this as soon as possible. We’ll keep you updated. Thanks for bearing with us!

Even Admin has double posts…

Guess no point in reposting the obvious. SLOOOOOOOOOW and lots of error messages “unavailable”, etc.

Ok. So a “spike” in traffic a week before notifications is causing the site to be UNUSABLE? This is ridiculous.

This has been going on for several days now without a real explanation. There was a “fix” which clearly didn’t fix jack.

New issue: can’t see notifications. Gives me a Guru error.

The site is crashing like crazy, what’s going on???
