Son's financial aid package now posted

on the Oasis site.

USC was generous and he has no scholarship but they met all need with a large grant, a small stafford loan, and a small work study.

Since he is a NMF's I wonder how that will impact the loan and the work study or if they will reduce the USC grant?

if you don't mind, could you please post his aid package? did USC meet his full need as stated on his FAFSA and PROFILE? i kind of want to see how USC deals with financial need.

what is the link to the oasis site?

here is the oasis site

https://camel2.usc.edu/OASIS/

Son has
28K in grants
3500 stafford loan
2500 work study

The rest is EFC. It appears his EFC was about 2K higher on with Profile than on FAFSA alone on USC's calcualtions.

He is a NMF so I am not sure how the Half tuition merit scholarship will figure into this if he names USC his top choice.

is it possible that they may contribute to the 10,000 in roomandboard, books, and food? or is tht something that finaid won't cover? just curious cause i didnt do a fafsa or profile

Hot DAMN that FA is amazing. I really want to find out my FA ASAP so I should probably fax my tax returns as soon as I can haha

also: How do you find our your password for OASIS?

I think its your bday mm/dd/yy if i remember correctly =

mmm not working. Oh well.

no slashes in the password, mmddyy

drizzit... how long did it take for them to put it up after you had submitted all your tax forms?

Tax forms were faxed in on February 27th. USC listed them as received on March 9th. financial aid was posted about two weeks after Son was accepted.

Wow...That's pretty good. Except my EFC isn't low...or high...so I don't know how much they'll be giving me.

The wait is killing me.

what would be apporximate EFC to get what drizzit got?

"The rest is EFC."

So I'm assuming 16k EFC?

FAFSA EFC was 12.5K. Sure glad I have twins getting ready to go into school at the same time. They split the EFC and each are getting decent packages at this level.

Profile and USC make some changes to base fafsa and it must have come out to about 15K. I rounded down the grant ;)

I would suspect that the NMF scholarship would reduce the need-based grant, but you can double-check with the FAid office to get definitive info.

ughhh.
i tried to look mine up & it said "financial aid status: under review."
a little worried now, since the cost is a big thing in my household..

Thanks for posting your info. It has made me less worried. My EFC is like 6k, so I think I can accept alot of grant aid :). Thats the important thing.
