You could have the knowledge required to do something but not the means to actually carry it out.

You are saying that in a country 4x as big as South Korea with billions of more people, all those billions of advanced people cannot find means of carrying out their ideas?

To actually make a public change throughout the country would take four times as much work in India as in South Korea.

Talking about relative advancement, I think India is one of the fastest developing countries in the world.

India was not majorly affected by the recession.

India has a ~9% growth rate

India is a 63 year old independent country. We had been looted of most of our wealth by the British who ruled over us for 400 years. How much had America progressed just 60 years after independence?

Like a famous economist said: (cannot recollect the name) ==> “Europe was the past, America is the present, and India and China are the future”

Indians form a major chunk of the workforce at NASA

India is the most diverse country in the world. It has every imaginable climatic condition, the most diverse range of people and the most number of languages in the world. In spite of all this, we relatively live in harmony as compared to other countries.

Indians are NOT dark skinned people. Check these links out–

Seriously, I can go ON AND ON about this. I just cannot tolerate anyone saying anything against my motherland.

Jai Ho!

All these arguments would be so much more persuasive if they didn’t actually include stupid epithets.

I’m not really feeling any pull towards any race at this moment. People need to clean up their game and stop relying on baseless personal insults.

And nationalism can be a good thing, but we all know what happens when people take it too far :P

Hail Hitler hahaha lol

One thing I gotta add is that India hasn’t acquired the status of being a developed country because of the whole brain-drain phenomena.

Brain Drain-- Intelligent Indians going overseas for better opportunities and more money.

I did my position paper on the “brain drain” phenomena.

The dark side of India :/

wow, there is so much Indian power on this thread thanks to aniruddhu, ansrox and everybody else.

Lol. Indian power?

You mean all the insults and indignation?

makeapoint definitely should not have made those demeaning comments, but the way that everyone responded was just as bad.

fairydream I mean its cool to see all the indians and the non indians stand up for India and Indians :)

…Hmm…But I didn’t think it was cool to see people stand up for India/China/etc by using insults.

Really ****? Really? Wow…you’re *ing cool.

fairydreams I didnt mean the insults, because thats wrong

The thing is, I didn’t really see many arguments that did not include insults.

oh, ok, got your point, but I guess arguments like this never lead to anywhere.

Yea :/

I feel like this thread could have been ended with one sentence, “Yes, Indians are classified as Asians.” But then someone just had to make a stupid racist comment

yeah, but due to that stupid racist comment we had to deal a whole bunch of insults, but I guess the Indians on this thread were defending themselves.
But there should have been a better way to handle things than insulting each other.

^ haha yeah those racist insults aren’t cool at all!

I <333 Indian people LOL.( a good 40% of my friends are Indian)…

And Indian culture is wickedddddddd ( and the food!!) in my house we have a an entire library of Indian movies (really old ones/classics)…just cause my mom is into that stuff lol…she even listens to ATN radio on XM…which can get a bit annoying hahaha…and if we’re in the U.A.E. Zee t.v. lmao

^ considering that i pretty much lived in a predominately Indian neighbourhood for most of my life (bur dubai aka “little India”)

Don’t be hatin’! (:
