kfc4u, your prob right. my number is just based upon who i've talked to so far.

my school has atleast 20
they say we are the smartest class our school has ever had

my school has about 20-30 who got in, maybe even a few more. it seems like the class of 2005, in general, is just really smart. look at how much college applications have increased in soo many school!!

perhaps you're right qtpie, because it seems that most colleges (the top ones anyway) are receiving a huge increase in applications (i.e. princeton). however, i dont know if that correlates with smartness.

at my high school, c/o 05 is regarded as the worst class to come through the high school in 10 years, yet because of several individuals, they may be remembered to have many top college acceptances.

of course more ppl are accepted. Two new residential buildings will be opening this fall. More housing means more students.

i heard at least 40 from monta vista got in from a girl who goes there...

Must have been some diet fad or something that led to smarter babies...

sk8erbam, more housing does not mean more students. the new housing is for 3rd years. their goal for the new housing is to accommodate more CONTINUING students, not new students.

innsayneidiot, i still think monta vista could get more than 40. perhaps around 50-60 admitted, and around a little more than half of that go on to berkeley or top privates. i think monta vista is one of the top publics in california.

80-something admitted from my school...

lol... TWO admitted from my school.

Everything's relative.

zik you go to troy. that's expected. ;)
although it seems like troy ppl would rather go somewhere else than ucla for some odd reason

"zik you go to troy. that's expected."

its actually up from 50ish last year, so the number was a nice surprise for our ib coordinator/guidance counselor

"although it seems like troy ppl would rather go somewhere else than ucla for some odd reason"

yeah, while there is a good handful of kids who will end up at ivies/stanford, i figure there's a decent amount headed to ucla

actually, only 2 people from troy actually ended up going to stanford last year.. 2 were accepted to yale, only 1 went.. 1 went to caltech.. most troy people go to berkeley or LA..

haha im friends with some of the friends of li t. and ryan m. =D

which h/s is better?
troy vs. university vs. peninsula vs. arcadia vs. beverly hills

do you know if troy sends more kids to berkeley or UCLA? it doesn't seem as if many troy students matriculate at UCLA, i feel a greater presence of some other publics here than troy, and i'm also under the impression that most troy kids would rather go to berkeley than ucla.

I know monte vista only by its debate team (which is INCREDIBLE), but the numbers do seem pretty high. Not as many people as usual got in from my school, although a HUGE number got into ucsd.

Arcadia sends the most kids to UCs.

If it seems that everyone who applied from your school got in, it's not true. It just seems like this because those that get in go around school saying so, while those that get rejected keep quiet, or say they never applied. If you live in CA, there's a pretty good chance most from your school applied.

31 have made it to UCLA from my school. I'm sure I'll learn of more JMHS acceptees as the weeks roll by. Heck, I just learned of four new ones today. It's pathetic because I'm actually making a list of names of UCLA acceptees.

my high school publishes a list of where everyone is matriculating in the last issue of the newspaper. it's kinda nice to see where everyone's going for college.

my high school also publishes a list of where everyone was accepted, but the list comes out a year after everyone has graduated already.
