soooo many people got in!

its pretty typical for large CA high school's to send 10-20 kids a year to UCLA....at least at mine it is :-</p>

What school?

i agree, its typical for most large CA high schools to send 10-20 kids a year... but it's not a rule. many inner city LA schools have the biggest enrollment but they might not send 10-20 kids a year to UCLA. i think you're talking about suburban schools with enrollment around 1800-2600.

Haha, my school is an inner-city school, kfc4u. :-P

just, a little more privileged and resourceful than the average inner-city school in L.A.

haha. clownz, which school?

John Marshall High School

"actually, only 2 people from troy actually ended up going to stanford last year.. 2 were accepted to yale, only 1 went.. 1 went to caltech.. most troy people go to berkeley or LA.."

3 at Stanford.

Correct on Yale: I would know.

Most Troy people go to Berkeley, UCSD, or UCI. UCLA is fourth.

I actually have detailed statistics for the c/o 2004 at Troy. Anyone interested?

Li and Ryan are awesome guys.

evil_robot,

i would like the detailed statistics for c/o 04 at troy. thanks =)

Can you give me an e-mail address? I can't PM you and I don't really want to post this information on CC.

I live in northern California and goes to a school with a student population of around 2,400. (The class of 2005 has about 550 students as of now.) Only about 6 or 7 people were accepted to UCLA. Most people are settling for UC Davis, or waiting for Cal admission decisions. But then again, there are not a lot of Ivy-bound (or, even private-bound) students. (For the past 3 years, I think only 4 people were Ivy-bound, and less than 20 are attending privates.)

Where do you live, winterpolaris? I'm from Chico... and that sounds exactly like my school.

there were a lot of applicants from my school rejected from UCLA (I'm in Southern Cali)...I got in as well as a fellow valedictorian, our two salutatorians, and then two other girls in the top ten (I think 6 and 8th)...one girl that everyone thought would get in was rejected (she was ranked number 7)...there are approx 500 people in my class, so stats are very similar to your's winterpolaris with even less going to Ivy's...

~Just for reference, the people accepted were all IB Diploma Candidates, while the other girl had dropped it at the end of junior year.
~Most of the rejected IB Diploma students had much lower SAT's and are considering UC Irvine (where we had all been guaranteed)

I live in Sacramento, and attend a school with around 20-25% college-bound ("college" includes anything from JC's to Ivies) seniors.

wow winterpolaris, i attended a high school where around 50% are college-bound NOT including JC's and i thought that was bad.

evil_robot, PM me, i activated it. thanks

winterpolaris: Same boat. About 13% go to a 4 year, 20% 4 year and 2 year and vocational school and military.

there is a christian ska band called the oc supertones... referring to orange county...

excuse me, its monTA vista.. haha.

lol wow way to bring back an ancient thread for no apparent reason :)

Resurrected by the Christmas spirit, I see...
